The oddity of this version being done on panel needs explaining; it is also somewhat larger than his standard size at this early date. I am not sure this is genuine but I find this whole early group of forest landscapes perplexing. Why so many copies of the same thing, more or less?
There is a seal of the noble family Wald-Bott-Bassenheim on the back.
